VW has confirmed that 107,000 cars will be recalled in Ireland. This includes 80,000 cars bought in Ireland and 27,000 cars imported mainly from the UK. The site, www.campaigncheck.ie, let's Irish owners of Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda cars and commercial vehicles check if their vehicle is affected.
Possible solutions vary from a €20 software update to installing expensive chatalic converters to reduce the harmful emissions.
The company has set aside €6.5 billion to cover the costs of the scandal, but some analysts think the final bill will be much higher.
